NAPA - They didn't solve Highway 29's gridlock, but they did agree to create a corridor study to get a better handle on the problem. About 50 planners and elected officials, including some from American Canyon and Vallejo, attended a regional meeting Thursday on Highway 29.

Rochester police say a woman accidentally shot her fiance with a .22-caliber rifle Saturday morning. It happened on Hillendale Street between Genesee Park and Thurston, shortly after 8 a.m. Police say the couple was cleaning out a closet when the loaded gun discharged.
